NC3Rs workshop: Cell transformation assays

State of the science, future research needs, and potential role in risk assessment

The NC3Rs is holding a workshop in central London on 9 November 2010 to discuss the latest advances in research on cell transformation assays for assessment of the carcinogenic potential of chemicals.

The aims of the workshop are to:

  • review the current state of the science of cell transformation assays
  • consider their potential role as part of a mechanism-based, weight of evidence approach to carcinogenicity risk assessment
  • inform the direction of further research in this area

The workshop will start with registration at 9:30am and will conclude at 7:00pm following a networking reception.

The workshop, which is being held the day before the UKEMS Industrial Genotoxicology Group (IGG) meeting (also in central London), is free to attend and is open to all scientists working in toxicology, carcinogenicity and related fields.

All participants are invited to present their work at the poster session. Abstracts will be published online in Mutagenesis.

The organizers are able to provide travel bursaries (at least 15) to PhD students and postdocs (terms and conditions apply).
